Currently, Mondelez the manufacturer of Cadbury and Oreo sources approximately 30% of its raw materials from India, with the remaining imported, mostly from Africa. Since cocoa is not a native crop in the region, the snacking company invests around Rs 2 crore per year in research and promotes cocoa farming through its Cocoa Life program (previously known as Cadbury Cocoa partnership) in the four southern states of Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Andhra Pradesh.
